Bollywood actor Sridevi turned a year older on Tuesday as she is
all set to celebrate her 50th birthday. Born on August 13, 1963, one of
the most prominent actresses still has a huge fan following from south
to B'town. She was one of the celebrated actress in South India, later
ventured in Hindi films, marking a special name for herself.
Sridevi
was born in Tamil Nadu on August 13, 1963 to Telugu mother Rajeswari
and Tamil father Ayyappan. She has a sister and two step brothers.
Sridevi married film producer Boney Kapoor and has two daughters, Jhanvi
and Khushi.
Sridevi began her career as a child actor before
making her debut as a leading lady in 1976 in a Tamil film. But it was
1983 when film ‘Sadma’ brought her recognition in the Hindi cinema. Her
most notable roles include Miss Hawa Hawaii in 'Mr. India' (1987), title
role in 'Chandni' (1989), Viji/Nehalata in 'Moondram Pirai'/'Sadma'
(1983), Rajini in 'Nagina' (1986), Anju/Manju in 'ChaalBaaz' (1989),
Pallavi/Pooja 'Lamhe' (1991), and Kaajal in 'Judaai' (1997).
After
1997, the actress took a fifteen years long break to be with her
children. In 2012, she came back with a bang with the movie titled
English Vinglish. Even after such a long break from B-Town, her talent
and skills in the movie were simply perfect. In fact, many felt that
even at this age, the actress looked as charming as ever.
